O’Fallon IL to Greenville SC
I have no photos of the last stretch of our trip. We were crossing terrain that seemed more familiar. Plus, we were tired from our travels and just wanted to get home. As we passed the lakes of Kentucky and the rivers of Tennessee I kept thinking that I want to do a cross-country trip where I just stop wherever I want and paddle my kayak. Some day.
But for today we still had a long, long way to go. To make matters worse, each day we crossed a time zone we lost an hour, so it seemed even more tiring. That happened today as we crossed from Central to Eastern Time.
We got home in the early evening. Glynda had the place all nice and ready for our arrival. Our cats were happy to see us, but not so happy to see Luna. Amy would be driving up to get her the next day. But for us, it was time to have a martini and collapse after our long, long journey.
